2016 Revision/Update to F963
After five years of work by hundreds of experts on the committee, F963 was updated in 2016.
Among the changes, the 2016 revision addresses ride-on toys with: a new curb impact re, a clarification of overload and stability res, and a strap exemption.
F963 also adds:
new labeling res for toys that have certain small coin/button batteries,temperature and current-limiting res for lithium-ion batteries, and new res for materials and toys that could expand if accidentally swallowed.
Other revisions include:
new soaking and compression tests for magnets new res andclarifications related to microbiological safety;clarifications toheavy elements res for toy substrate materials revised re-s for toys involving projectiles; and, clarification of res and supplemental guidance for impact hazards.
